How to Plant & Grow:

• Site Preparation: Choose a location with full sun to partial shade. Mustard greens prefer loose, fertile, moisture-retentive soil. Work 3 inches of aged compost into the top 6 inches of the soil.
  
• Sowing: Direct sow seeds outdoors in early spring, or in late summer for a spectacular fall harvest. Plant seeds ¼ to ½ inch (0.6-1.2 cm) deep and cover lightly. Keep the soil consistently moist until germination (4-7 days).

Spacing:

• For Giant Mature Plants: Thin seedlings to 18 to 24 inches (45-60 cm) apart in rows spaced 24 to 36 inches (60-90 cm) apart. They need plenty of room to reach their massive, stunning size!
  
• Square Foot Gardening (SFG): Plant 1 plant per 1-square-foot area for full-size heads.
  
• Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist. Provide about 1 inch of water per week. Consistent moisture ensures the thick leaves stay tender and sweet.
• Harvesting: You can harvest the entire plant when it reaches full size, OR you can snap off the outer lower leaves and let the inner core keep growing for repeated harvests.
  
• Gardener's Tip: Harvest after a light frost! This variety tastes its absolute sweetest after it has been touched by a light fall frost. The cold triggers the plant to convert starches into natural sugars.
