Este guisante enano de vaina mide entre 60 y 75 cm de alto. Es una variedad de maduración temprana, sus vainas de entre 10 y 15 cm ofrecen entre 6 y 8 guisantes cuando se desgranan. Dulce y jugoso, con buena tolerancia al calor. Ideal para contenedores.

COMIENZA A SEMBRAR SEMILLAS AL AIRE LIBRE
A principios o mediados de la primavera, plante los guisantes a pleno sol en un suelo fértil y bien trabajado. Siembre las semillas a 2,5 cm de profundidad y a una distancia de 7,5 a 10 cm en hileras anchas o bandas de 7,5 cm de ancho, dejando una separación de 60 cm entre las hileras. Proporcione soportes para estas enredaderas trepadoras de 1,5 a 1,8 m en el momento de la plantación. Protéjalas de los pájaros merodeadores con redes o cubiertas flotantes para hileras si es necesario. El clima frío y húmedo de principios de la primavera puede afectar la germinación, por lo que si la primera siembra no germina de manera uniforme, vuelva a plantar de inmediato, ya que las nuevas plántulas crecen rápidamente. Siembre nuevamente para una cosecha de otoño aproximadamente 2 meses y medio antes de la primera helada de otoño esperada.

NOTAS DE CRECIMIENTO
Estas son arvejas hipertendriles, lo que significa que las vides producirán zarcillos largos y giratorios en lugar de algunas hojas. Esta característica ayuda a aumentar el flujo de aire, por lo que hay menos posibilidades de enfermedades. Use una red o un enrejado de alambre para sostener estas vides altas y pesadas para que sea más fácil cosecharlas. Mantenga las vides de arvejas bien desmalezadas y regadas y cubra con mantillo para conservar la humedad. Riegue en la base de las plantas para evitar el moho.

COSECHA Y UTILIZACIÓN
Coseche solo cuando los guisantes estén maduros y redondos en las vainas de paredes gruesas y jugosas para obtener el mejor sabor. Saboree su dulce textura crujiente recién sacada del huerto (¡a los niños les encantan especialmente!) como refrigerio o córtelos en rodajas para ensaladas. Coseche las vainas con regularidad y tendrá una producción más prolongada de nuevas. Para cocinarlas rápidamente, saque los hilos de las vainas y saltéelos en un poco de aceite hasta que adquieran un color verde más oscuro.
