COMIENZA A SEMBRAR SEMILLAS AL AIRE LIBRE
A principios de la primavera, cuando haya pasado el peligro de heladas fuertes, siembre las semillas en un suelo fértil y bien trabajado, a pleno sol. Siembre las semillas a 2,5 cm de distancia entre sí y a 1,25 cm de profundidad en hileras separadas por 20 cm, o esparza las semillas al voleo para sembrarlas en canteros. Si la primera siembra germina de manera desigual, plante más semillas, ya que las plántulas crecerán rápidamente. Aclare con cuidado las plántulas jóvenes a una distancia de 3 a 4 pulgadas para que las remolachas individuales tengan espacio para crecer.

NOTAS DE CRECIMIENTO
Para obtener remolachas de la mejor calidad, siembre las semillas antes del calor del pleno verano y nuevamente a principios del otoño. Mantenga la tierra uniformemente húmeda durante toda la temporada de crecimiento. Asegúrese de aclarar las plántulas de remolacha con cuidado varias veces, ya que crecen mejor cuando se les da suficiente espacio.

COSECHA Y UTILIZACIÓN
Coseche las remolachas maduras cuando tengan al menos varios centímetros de diámetro o agréguelas a un tamaño aún mayor. Corte las puntas y resérvelas. Lave las raíces, envuélvalas en papel de aluminio y luego áselas a la perfección en un horno precalentado a 350 °F hasta que estén tiernas al perforarlas; lleva al menos una hora, según su horno. Deje enfriar, pélelas, córtelas en rodajas y disfrútelas con mantequilla y hierbas frescas picadas. O simplemente pele, corte en rodajas y agregue las remolachas asadas a las ensaladas. Cocine al vapor las puntas tiernas de las remolachas para obtener verduras sabrosas y nutritivas.
